Day 2

After a great night of sleep we got up at 6:30 AM. A breakfast of biscuits & gravy along with some eggs was waiting. We quickly ate and were on the road by 7:30.

We had a short ride in the cool morning air and got to "House Of Promise," a Teen Challenge rehabilitation center for moms with young children. We were shown around, seeing the nursery where the kids could be taken care of, the storehouses filled with food and supplies, the playground with swings and other toys, the dorms, with one to two beds in each, and the chapel. My Dad spoke to the ladies for about half an hour. Afterward everybody commented on how they were encouraged and liked his sermon.

After talking a little more with the people who worked there (including the lady that cooked us breakfast) we were once again on our way.

The 60 mile ride to Grand Junction was beautiful, filled with mountains in the distance, hills we rode on and around, plains and beautiful views. But it was not long before the ride ended. We got to my Uncle's house, where we spent the rest of the day.
